A hooded shape leans over the flame, cast in resin with folds and creases picked out in fine relief. Lit from inside, the hollows fill with shadow and the whole thing reads more like a small sculpture than a holder. Seven finishes range from pale ivory to shadow black.

Most candle holders disappear behind the candle. This one does the opposite, holding its own on a mantel or windowsill whether or not anything is burning. The detail is sharp enough to stand up to close inspection.
