Why choose a corduroy pillow cover?

Flat fabric next to flat fabric makes a room read as one surface. Corduroy adds relief, and that works even if you stay within a single color. The rib runs vertically, which makes the pillow look slightly taller than it is.

Never press the cord flat with a hot iron; hang the cover in the steam of a bathroom instead. Wash it inside out at 85 °F so the pile stays standing. Brush the rib in one direction by hand once it is dry.
