A slim rechargeable bar that mounts above a frame and tilts up to 120 degrees to put the light on the picture rather than the wall. It runs on a built-in battery for up to eight hours per charge and lifts off its magnetic mount when it needs power. A remote handles brightness, color temperature and an automatic off timer.

A hardwired picture light means a cable route, a wall chase and a decision you cannot move later. This one goes up in about a minute on adhesive or screws, and comes down just as easily when you rearrange the wall. Nothing hangs below the frame.

The lamp measures 32 x 4 x 3 cm and the wall base 20 x 4.5 cm, so it sits comfortably above a medium frame. Center the base above the picture, mount with the adhesive pad or the screws, then tilt the head until the light covers the full canvas.
