Transparent adhesive strips that add texture to the front of a stair tread. Each strip is 3.9 by 24 inches, which covers the width of most interior staircases in one piece. The clear PEVA film lets the grain of the wood show through instead of covering it with rubber matting.

Polished wood and tile stairs get slick, especially in socks. A textured strip across the nose of each tread gives shoes and feet something to hold. Because the film is clear, the staircase still looks like the staircase you chose.

Clean each tread with a degreasing cleaner and let it dry completely, because dust is what makes these strips lift later. Place the strip about 2 cm back from the front edge and press from the middle outwards to push the air out. Trim with scissors if your treads are narrower than 24 inches.
